The Commission is not verifying any original documents for admission of the candidates to the examinations. The candidates are admitted to the examination provisionally based on the information submitted by them along with declaration. The originals are to be verified by the appointing authority concerned for validation of the candidature before issue of appointment order. Hence the candidature shall remain provisional till validation by the appointing authority.

Plan of Examination – Odisha Forest Guard

The recruitment process shall consist of the following stages:

Physical Standard Measurement Test

All eligible candidates shall have to appear the physical standard measurement tests before the District Level Physical Test Board constituted for the purpose in their respective districts for which they have given their choices in the application. Those who do not qualify in any of the physical standard test, i.e., height/weight/chest measurement shall not be allowed to appear in further recruitment process.

The candidates must possess the following minimum physical standard of height, weight and chest:

The candidates shall be examined by the Chief Medical Officer of the District to testify that they possess sound health and general physical fitness for outdoor work in Forest and Environment Department.

The bonus mark will be awarded to all categories as per their height (in cm) as follows, namely:-

Sports (10 marks):-

Candidates possessing sports and Athletics Certificate shall be awarded marks, in the following manner, namely:

A) Representing the Country and participating in a competitive International Sports meet/ Championship and winning medal.

  • For a Gold medal (or first position ) = 10 marks
  • For a Silver medal (or second position) = 09 marks.
  • For a Bronze medal (or third position ) = 08 marks

B) Representing the State and participating in a competitive in open National Championship and winning medal.

  • For a Gold medal (or first position) — 08 marks.
  • For a Silver medal (or second position) = 07 marks.
  • For a Bronze medal (or third position) = 06 marks.

C) Representing the State and participating in open National Championship without medal = 05 marks.
D) Representing the District / Circle in Junior / Senior / Inter- District meet in State Level Sports = 04 marks.
E) Sports achievement in the discipline other than 26 listed below shall not be considered for award of marks.

Physical Efficiency Test — (30 marks):

The candidate qualifying in the following physical tests shall be allowed to subsequent written test.

Male Candidate ( Total Marks 30 )

aWalking Test ( 10 marks)- Qualifying distance 25 kms
 Within 2.30 hours.10 marks
 Between 2.31 to 3.00 hours07 marks
 Between 3.01 to 3.30 hours04 marks
 Between 3.31 to 4.00 hours.02 marks

 High Jump (05 marks) — Qualifying height- 1.22 mtrs.

dBroad Jump (05 marks) – Qualifying length- 3.66 mtrs  
 If cleared in First chance05 marks
 If cleared in Second chance03 marks
 If cleared in third chance02 marks
eRope climbing (05 marks) – Qualifying height- 6 mtrs.
 If cleared in first chance05 marks
 If cleared in second chance03 marks
 If cleared in third chance02 marks
fSwimming- Qualifying length 40 mtrs.
Distance covered within 8 ruins- qualifying Otherwise participants will be disqualified

Female Candidate ( Total Marks 30 )

aWalking Test ( 10 marks)- Qualifying distance 16 Kms
 Within 2.30 hrs.10 marks
 Between 2.31 to 3.00 hrs07 marks
 Between 3.01 to 3.30 hrs04 marks
 Between 3.31 to 4.00 hrs.02 marks

bCycling Test ( 06 marks) — Qualifying distance 1.6 Km

 If cleared in First chance07 marks
 If cleared in Second chance04 marks

fSwimming- Qualifying length 40 mtrs. 
 Distance covered within 10 mins- qualifying otherwise participants will be disqualified 

NOTE :- If a candidate fails to qualify in any of the above events, he/she shall be disqualified and shall not be allowed to participate in the subsequent tests or recruitment process.

D- N.C.C. ( 05 marks ) :-

The bonus mark will be awarded to the candidates as follows: –

  • National Cadet Corps ”C” certificate — 5 Marks
  • National Cadet Corps ”B” certificate — 3 Marks
  • National Cadet Corps ”A” certificate — 2 Marks

Written Test : –

The candidate who qualifies in the Physical Standard Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test shall appear in a Written Test of 50 marks as follows

In OMR system with Multiple Choice Questions – Duration : 2 hours in one sitting

  • Age relaxation as per Govt rules

Educational Qualification

  • HSCE (10+) From a recognized Board or institution.
  • They must be proficient in the Odia language and should have passed the Odia language in the 7th standard or above.
